MOMS@SRI LANKA
Multidisciplinary Obstetrics and Midwifery Simulation at Sri Lanka
ABOUT US
MOMS@Sri Lanka is a project constructed by members of the ANNA charity partnered with ELLY Appeal .
We are a small team of 15 doctors and midwives based at the Newham Hospital in London.
Here we have worked hard to make education of the multidisciplinary team our main focus. ANNA charity is an example as it involves teaching and empowering members of staff to improve maternity services.
We are proud to say that we successfully trained over 300 midwives and doctors in Hyderabad last year and are ready to transfer those skills to Sri Lanka

I love being a midwife because it is a privileged position where care and passion intertwine as I offer professional birth options and improve birth outcomes. I offer personalized woman care and care that makes sense and feel continued participation in the woman's care autonomously. Sri Lanka will be a great place for me to share my experience and impart my midwifery skills to other professionals and childbearing women. Love training and having a common goal with same objectives

Martina Lugli
Midwife
I've been working at Newham Hospital as a midwife for the past 3 years and I’ve enjoyed rotating in the different maternity settings, especially case in the community and proving one to one intrapartum care. I believe that empowering women, working with the multi-disciplinary team and helping and supporting students in their journey is the core of our midwifery practice. I became a sign-off mentor last year and love training students in placements. Apart from midwifery, my other great passion is travelling. Every time I visit a new place I try to immerse myself in the culture of the country. I was lucky to travel to Sri Lanka for 3 weeks in June 2017 and I found the country a real gem. When I heard about MOMS@SriLanka I was very excited and I can’t wait to share my skills and make a difference for the mothers and babies in Sri Lanka.
